It was a fine Summer day, very fine in fact. The sun was out, the temperature was perfect, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. There was a slight breeze, making the air so much more comfortable. It was about four in the afternoon or so, and the sun was down from it's high perch in the sky. Since it was four in the afternoon, the park was not quite as busy as it had been a couple of hours ago, but it was still rather lively. The Doctor hated when things were just a smidge too crowded, seeing as he felt a little uncomfortable in crowds. He loved people, he did, just not so bunched up together around him.
Yes, today the Doctor had ventured off towards the park. Why? Because why not? He felt it was a nice place to be, and, today he needed to be here. Well, wanted and needed to be here to be correct. A week ago, the man had stumbled into the Impressio Nightclub for a bit of an adventure, and what he got was a potential new friend. Seren was her name, a lovely young woman who caught his eye that night after fending herself from a man more than double her size. The two had conversed for a while, and he had found himself liking the woman straight off. She was really nice, and proved to be good company for Chris. Well, as far as she knew of, he was "Chris". As far as anyone knew he was that name. Of course, Seren may already assume that this was not his name, but she played along with him anyways. The Doctor wanted to see her again, for one reason or another. Partially it had to do with his longing to connect with someone else, seeing as he was pretty much alone in this time line, and most others now that he thought about it. But mostly it was because he genuinely enjoyed her company, and she was a nice change in pace. She wasn't some demented supernatural hurting innocents, nor was she a damsel waiting to be rescued, or a woman with...provocative ideas. She was...well, not normal, but not weird in a bad way or anything. Just pleasant.
So, on this day, the Doctor would be waiting for Seren. He had found where the woman lived, and had discreetly hidden a message in her mailbox for her to find at her leisure. It had said;
Dear Seren, I hope this doesn't seem a little weird or out of the blue for you to find a message from me. And I also certainly hope this isn't a horrible invasion on your privacy...but at any rate! I was wondering if you would do me the honor of perhaps accompanying me to the local park? Around four o' clock on Saturday maybe? Of course if you don't want to come out there it is fine. Or if you have better things to do then I entirely understand. But, if you do show up, then it would be absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed speaking with you at the Impressio, and I would love to talk to you again. I hope to see you there! Until then, I do hope your week is fantastic. And try to not get into too much trouble alright?
Sincerely, Christopher, AKA, The Doctor."
Whether she accepted his invitation, it was entirely up to her. Would he feel a little disappointed? Oh certainly so. Would he understand though? Of course. But, one could hope right? He would wait, and if she didn't show up...well, he would just return home he supposed, work on the T.A.R.D.I.S., or catch up on some paperwork P.I.D.A. has been wanting him to look over.
The man wandered down the little park pathway, dressed in his typical attire. His let his gaze wander around, taking in the sight of the park. He allowed a grin to appear on his face, feeling wonderful just being here. The Doctor eventually came upon a lone bench that sat just near the pathway, which was near one of the entrances. He sat down, making himself comfortable. Now, he would wait.

This was too adorable, it truly was. To her surprise, and great pleasure, Seren had found a note in her mailbox one afternoon after she had returned home from yet another night at the club. Never would she admit that the reason she had kept frequenting the nightlife hot spot was because she had hoped to run into her new friend again. Chris, or the Doctor as he had called himself. She hadn't had the luck of finding him again, but it looked like she hadn't even needed to try in the first place, for he had found her in a matter of no time. A beaming smile could not be wiped from her face the first instant after she had started reading the message he had left her. Amused little giggles slid from between her lips as she read along, her metallic eyes taking on a gleam of excitement the further she got. Now, normally she wasn't just this kind of bubbly, girly chick, but somehow Chris had managed to bring that lighter side out of her. A laugh escaped her as she read the last question in his letter, that she should try to not get into trouble. If he decided he wanted to get to know her better, and he actually did, he was going to learn that trouble was like her conjoined twin. Always by her side. Seren had read the letter the same day that he had dropped it off, and waiting for Saturday to finally arrive had been driving her up a wall. She was like a hatchling all over again. Excitement and giggles all pent up in a little body.
When Saturday actually had arrived, Seren was more than sure about her decision. She was definitely going to meet up with him, there was no question about it. Since the first moment she had spoken to him, she had liked the way he was. She had wanted to know more, and her curiosity still ate away at her. After she had put her hair up in a messy bun and slipped on a flowy tank-top, skinny jeans, and a pair of strappy sandals, she was ready to head off to the park, her invitational note in hand. The petite girl actually lived pretty close to the park, she could easily walk to it in just a few minutes. Taking her little strides quickly across the street, Seren half-ran to the sidewalk on the other side, and once she reached it, she continued in the direction of the park. About seven minutes later and the raven-haired girl had arrived, one minute exactly before four. She hoped she wasn't too early, and that this wasn't actually just going to be a total dud. She had been stood up before, and quite frankly, she wasn't a fan of it. Biting on her lower lip, the dragoness stepped into the park and proceeded to wander further into it, her eyes searching for Chris. She ran her gray, painted nails over the note repeatedly as she walked along, finding that she was actually a little nervous. The girl laughed at herself. She couldn't believe this. First giggles and smiles, and now butterflies in her stomach? She couldn't remember when she was a silly teenager, but she bet she would've been a lot like this.
Seren frowned a little as her walking slowed and she came to a standstill in the park. She didn't see Chris anywhere... Or... Wait, that was him! The little woman successfully facepalmed. He was across the park at one of the other entrances. An amused grin crossed Seren's lips and she jogged over to the Doctor, coming up from around and behind so he wouldn't be able to see her. As soon as she was within striking distance, she charged up to the back of the bench and lightly grabbed Chris's shoulders, shaking him for a second before bringing her small hands up to his eyes, covering them as she let out a laugh. Leave it to Seren to break down awkward walls that always seem to surround new meetings. "Guess who?~" she practically sang into his ear, a smile evident in her voice. The girl was so small, his head, even sitting, easily reached the top of her ribcage. Seren had luckily put her little note momento in her pocket right before she ambushed Chris. It was all nice and neatly folded up, so nothing would happen to it. She kinda wanted to keep it in good condition, so she could save it for the future. Again, her light side was being brought to the surface. But she truly didn't mind. It was a refreshing change to go along with. Hopefully, Chris thought so too.

He knew not a lot of time had passed since he first entered the park, but he already found himself to be an anxious induced mess. What if Seren didn't show up? Yes, he said he would understand if she didn't, but that didn't stop the fact that it would take a swing at his feelings some. He hated waiting, and waiting was usually never something a Time Lord had to suffer through. On most occasions, he could just skip through the boring waiting nonsense and see if his endeavors would bear fruit. And, if they didn't, then he would have to face the facts and move on. Though he could go back and fix his mistakes, he chooses not to, for to him, things happen for a reason, and if those things are changed, well goodness only knows what could happen. So, he chose to let fate do as it wishes, even if fate could be entirely cruel and merciless from time to time.
Chris took a look around him, getting himself excited ever time he saw someone approaching, only to be disappointed a moment later. He allowed a tiny frown to appear on his face, and he sighed ever so slightly. He dug around in his large coat pocket and pulled out a small notebook he kept with him at all times. He held notes he had taken throughout his stay in this time, many of them now being P.I.D.A. related. The man figured he may as well re-read through his notes...it wouldn't hurt him any if he did so, and perhaps he'll have some sort of epiphany. Chris dug around in his other pocket and grabbed his glasses, adjusting them on his face so they rested just at the tip of his nose. He began flipping through his countless pages of notes to himself, skimming through the first several pages seeing as they were utter nonsense.
However, the man had hardly began reading when he felt hands grip his shoulders before they shook him, only to release him and cover his eyes the next. He had squealed, perhaps a little louder then necessary in his fright, and dropped his book in his lap. He had been about to reach into his pocket for his Sonic Screwdriver, when a familiar voice rang in his ears. A wide, childish grin replaced his look of surprise and he laughed. "Seren? Blimey! You about scared me half to death!" Chris exclaimed, turning his head to face the small girl. He adjusted his glasses, which had become lopsided in the ambush. Chris quickly pocketed his notebook and practically jumped up from his seat and walked to the side of the bench. Goodness, he had already almost forgotten just how tiny she was. "If you don't mind, just stand there because I'm going to give you a hug you sneaky girl!" The man said with another childish grin before he bent down to hug Seren. His grin turned slightly mischievous as he took it a step farther and actually picked the smaller female up and hugged her tightly, but not tight enough to be uncomfortable. After a moment, he sat her back down, chuckling slightly.
"I apologize, I love giving out hugs. It gives such warm fuzzy feelings doesn't it? My word it is so great to see you again! How has your week been my dear friend Seren? Not too trouble filled I hope?" He asked, practically giddy just seeing his new found friend. Normally, he would worry that his behavior was probably freaking her out, but he was just too darn excited to even care at the moment.

An abundance of giggles escaped the tiny girl as she processed her friend's reaction to her surprise attack. Oh yes, she had heard that spontaneous squeal of his. And loved it. It was perhaps the cutest thing she had heard all day. Seren withdrew her hands from poor man's face, laughter still making her shoulders shake as she watched him turn. A wide smile flashed across her face as she locked eyes with him. Maybe an apology would be a good idea, but... Nah, not for her. "That was the point, silly!" she laughed out, her gaze shooting upward as Chris stood, his frame easily dwarfing hers. The little woman blinked expectantly up at him, her hands propping themselves against her hips as she tilted her head cutely, now deciding to pull the cute act on him in a silent plead for forgiveness. Luckily, it seemed she was already off the chopping block. "Wait, wha-" An equally loud and sudden cry escaped her lips as she was quickly pulled into a hug, her voice escalating in pitch as her feet left the ground. Laughter showered out of her as she instinctively gripped onto Chris, her small hands holding on tightly to his coat as she squeezed her eyes shut.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry I scared you!" she giggled, her eyes flashing back open as her feet made contact with the ground again. The raven-haired girl quickly shook her head, though a smile betrayed her gesture, her eyes glued on the Doctor's face. "Oh no, I love giving out hugs too! They're definitely the best!" she replied with enthusiasm, finding herself to be in an absolutely marvelous mood now that she was in the company of her friend. The girl's lighthearted smile took on a more devious nature as he asked her how her week had been. Well, compared to how her weeks usually go, it had been fairly uneventful. In her pursuit to find the wonderfully-accented male, she had gone above and beyond her usual methods of good behavior in the high hopes of finding him if she stayed out of trouble. Though her good streak had failed her in the obvious sense, it had also worked in a way, because she was standing here with him right at the current moment, right? "My week was boring," the dark-haired girl replied, completely being honest with her companion. She found no reason to cut corners with things. Seren continued, smiling brightly again. "Well, that is, until I got your letter! It was truly much too cute." A doting look filled her metallic eyes as she looked up at him. The natural light outside suited him much better than the artificial crap that filled the nightclub had when she had first met him.
Moving over to Chris' side, Seren looked up to him again, holding out a bent elbow as an invitation for him to take it. "Would you like to take a walk with me?" she asked, smiling sweetly up to him. Her excitement from earlier was beginning to die down a little now, leaving behind a sated and happy Seren in its wake as she stood there in wait. She hoped the height difference wouldn't be too much of an issue for him if he did indeed choose to link elbows with her. If it did, she would make sure to help him out as much as possible. She definitely didn't want him bending over the entire time for her, that would just suck. And it would make her feel bad. Maybe wearing the flattest sandals she owned wasn't the best idea after all...
